We came back to the hotel to shower and change and then headed off for lunch. We opted for a pizza place we had visited a few days ago. Afterward, the students travelled in groups of 3-4 through the town square and market areas... a great opportunity to pick up more gifts for those of you at home...
This evening we went to a family run planetarium. It was great! We learned about the Inca's use and interpretation of the night sky and then were shown the sky of the southern hemisphere in a dome. Then...we went outside to look at the sky through 3 telescopes. One focused on the moon, one on Jupiter and one on a cluster of stars. All of us were really impressed by the evening. Our group dinner was quite good too - the usual Peruvian fare of chicken. For us veggies they has a vegetable lasagna.
Tomorrow afternoon we take the one hour flight to Lima. We have a lay over of approx. 11 hours, so we will be bussed to a hotel where we will rest, do last minute shopping (if that's even possible...) and then head back to the airport for our gruelling journey home. 4 hour flight from Lima to San Salvador, El Salvador; 1 hour layover; 5.5 hour flight to Toronto; 2 hour layover; 5.5 hour flight to Victoria. We will be arriving in Victoria @ 10:26pm Monday, March 21. Air Canada flight 191. The kids have been fabulous and really enjoyed their adventure, but please... remember to pick them up :-)
